Scholarships

Every year, thousands of hopeful students apply to the various scholarship programs offered by donor governments in Laos.
Vientiane College is proud to be associated with some of the most prestigious international scholarship programs available to Lao students.
 
One of the longest established scholarship programs is the Australia Awards, which is managed by Coffey International in association with Vientiane College. Awards are available each year at TAFE, Undergraduate, Post Graduate and PhD levels. For more information on the scholarships and the application process please click here.
 
Each year the New Zealand Aid Program offers 30 scholarship places at Post Graduate (PGDip, Masters and PhD) level in the New Zealand ASEAN Scholars award scheme (NZAS). Awardees undertake a year of academic preparation at Vientiane College prior to mobilisation to university in New Zealand in order to help them qualify for places and cope with the rigorous demand of post graduate level study. The British Embassy in Vientiane manages the Chevening Scholarships on behalf of the UK government. Students with a good Bachelor’s degree (usually equivalent to UK upper second-class honours), at least two years’ work experience and strong English language skills are encouraged to apply. The U.S. government offers approximately 10 Fulbright Scholarships, at Post Graduate level to Lao students each year. Applicants can contact the U.S. Embassy, Vientiane for more information on the application process and eligibility criteria. Candidates undergo a short TOEFL preparation course at Vientiane College as part of the selection process.  For more information click here.
