IELTS tests are available on 13 fixed dates this year. Tests are normally taken on Saturdays, with some sessions on Thursdays. The Listening, Reading and Writing tests are all taken on the same day. The Speaking test can take place up to seven days before or after the other papers; this is decided by the centre.

To register for an IELTS test, you need to submit your application form at least 5 weeks before the test date.

The test centre will confirm your IELTS test date and time.

If the speaking test is to be on a different day, the centre will inform you.

What other IELTS information do I need to know?

Candidates are required to register  five weeks in advance of the IELTS Examination to have a better chance of confirming their test placement for their preferred date. Some months have large numbers reserved in advance so it is important to register early!

Candidates are required to complete the online IELTS Test Application Form which is available through the Vientiane College website (www.vientianecollege.com) and then come to Vientiane College at least one week before the test date to have a portrait photograph taken.

In addition, candidates are required to have a finger scan made of their right index finger which is done at the IELTS office. This is a new security protocol which we must enforce. All this data is kept confidential by IELTS.

If candidates try to apply online within 10 days before the test date they will be denied access. So they will need to come to the IELTS office at Vientiane College to have the IELTS administrator enter their application on their behalf, provided that there are still vacancies for that testing session.

It is very important when applying online to enter the details of your passport or national identity card correctly. The IELTS Administrator uses these spellings (names) and details (date of birth) for the test report form and official data entries. Always remember to bring these I.D. when coming to apply for IELTS and when attending the test sessions.

What do I need to know about my results?

The IELTS test results are available thirteen (13) days after the test in a Test Report Form (TRF). You can check your result online, but the TRF must be collected in person from the IELTS office at Vientiane College. You may arrange for a proxy to collect on your behalf, or have the TRF sent to you or a third party, but you should contact the IELTS Administrator in advance for more information. Click here for contact details.

What if I am not happy with my test result?

IELTS Enquiries on Results. If you are unhappy with your test result, you can apply for a re-mark. You must make the application no later than 6 weeks after the test date. You can choose which test components are re-marked. There is a fee for this service which will be refunded if your score is increased. These re-marks take 6-8 weeks to complete because they are sent to Australia.

What if I want to cancel the test or I can’t take it for some reason?
